Homecoming at Florence High School was “All Shook Up” with an Elvis theme as there were some new elements to this year’s festivities. Instead of each class having their day to decorate the front halls, each class was given a different hallway to decorate that correlated with their float theme Monday afternoon. There was also no lunch provided for the teachers. We had some normal days, like college day and around the world day, but we also had some obscure days, like fake an injury day and stoplight day which is where you wear a red, yellow, or green shirt to show if you are taken, it’s complicated, or single. The Homecoming Parade was Thursday night. There every class showed off their floats, the Homecoming Maids were presented, and FHS HOSA backed the blue by taking donations for the Florence Police Department. Finally, Friday was spirit day. There was a big pep rally, and everyone wore red and black to show their support. At the pep rally, the homecoming maids did their skits in front of the student body with their escorts. At the game later that night, Mallory Ivy was crowned Homecoming Queen, and Anna-Morgan Aultman was crowned Football Maid. Although we lost the game against the Trojans 21 to 13, the Homecoming Dance rounded out the night with a good time.
